so we endedup getting a hotel and my mom and I left to pick my sister up and head out to Tampa. arrived at the hotel at like 12am, went to sleep at like 1 30am and woke up at 6 30am. we got to the convention at like 8 30am. so I had to go into my own line and they went in for their photo op at 9 30am with Jeffery Dean Morgan. I actually didn't mind standing in line alone like I thought I would. I just popped in airpods and listened to music. then they were done with their first photo op. we got inside and it was early so it wasn't packed yet. we took a tour around the event to see who was set up and look at the shop items. I decided to go ahead and get that shout out for bf from Emile Hirsch. so the lines weren't long like at all for anyone yet. apparently it was 80.00 for a pic or autograph. I asked the person in charge of taking the money and asked her if I could get a shout out in a video from him for bf who wasn't able to attend. she was kinda mean. kinda strict and said they don't really want people doing such things. but she said she would ask him and said it IS up to him. so she asks him and he's nodding his head as if he obvi didn't mind. shes like "he says okay" which was weird. like she speaking for him kinda gay. but whatever... so we paid it. I told him this "so my bf loves you and your movies. especially this one *points to his character in Into The Wild" pic for him to autograph. he couldn't come cuz hes at home with our daughter so could you give him a shout out in a video?" he said of course. so I get the camera out and ask him if he's ready and he says yes. so I nod my head to go ahead and record this video. I told him his full name to say and he gave him a shout out followed by "and your girlfriend is really nice" LOLLLOL. it was funny cuz he was such a regular guy. just normal. chill. nice. i thanked him and told him how rad this is and he shook my hand and said you're welcome and I left and told him bye. bye he's cute I have a crush on him now. stop. that was my first encounter with one of the actors that were there. so I got him the shout out with a signed autograph.
we walked around more and checked more things out. we sat by the panel for a bit while these comic writers did their talk on stage and some weird ass girl comes up to me & says "can I do something really quick/I had to do something really quick" and asked to sit in my spot at this table cuz i guess she was sitting thete beforehand. so picture this me on one side of the picnic table and my mom and sister across from me. the entire other half of the table was FREE no one sitting there. so I say sure cuz I don't know exactly what shes talking about. so she sits there where I was sitting. and I just stand up like uhhh? i asked what am I suppose to do. then she apologizes and explains whatever her reason was I didn't understand it. then she starts explaining the photo op line and how it works and then my mom asked her a question about it. the way this girl explained her tone was like... ok she's not all there. so my sister and I get uncomfortable and walk away. but how strange. she makes me get up and sits in my place when there were completely free places to sit. weirdo. so I get ready for my Justin Long photo op and I am standing in line alone which was okay except it was hot af. I get up to Justin Long which was crazy feeling. I asked him if I could hug him and he said of course. then he's like "I am Justin nice to meet you." I'm like I know lol. he asks me my name and I told him and then I told him thank you so much and he said of course i appreciate you coming and said my name and said bye to me. he was very friendly but I didn't spout out what I wanted to say cuz I figured I'd talk to him freely at his table. I wish now that I said what I wanted to say quickly.
so that never happened unfortunately because his table line got cut off because he was on a time crunch. everyone was at his table and surrounding him. I used my camera and zoomed in to see up close and this worker told me I cannot take pics. I told him I was just zooming in and he said oh okay and laughed and then said we just can't take pics. so annoying all the rules about pics and vids here unless you pay. so I didn't get to say anything about The Wave. I should have at the photo op I guess but I didn't know. so I got our pic printed there and in a protective sleeve.
I ended up meeting some people I like just by walking around. my mom pointed and said "thats Kevin" as in Kevin Durand. my mom & I like him. so I tapped him on the shoulder and waved and said hi!! he said hi back and then shook my hand and asked me my name. he said nice to meet you and said that he's gonna be over at his table in a moment and to stop by and say hi. he was SO nice. the way he talked to me was very polite and friendly, very gentleman like. hella genuine friendliness. it was so cool. I ended up running into him like 3 or 4 times and each time I waved at him. he was so kind and waved back with big smiles.
other actors I said hello to as they walked by were the friend in Obession. walked by me 2 times and I said hi once and he said hi back. then Jack Quaid walked by us a few times and my mom's like "hey Jack!" and he said hey! so chill they just walk through and pass by you and shit. I was sitting on the floor and the kid from Obsession walked right by me that second time.
okay so Norman Reedus photo op time with my mom. we get up to him and poor guy was hella burned out. apparently when we were next for our pic standing in front of him they said their computer was down and he looks at us and says "our computers are down" and repeats that twice and I'm like bummer lol. then my mom introduced both of us and he says "I'm Norman and I am jetlagged. he said he had gotten back from Berlin the other day. my mom said she liked his haircut and he said oh thank you and fist bumped my mom. photographer shooing us off but he kept talking to us. then my mom asking if Berlin was cold and he said "a lot cooler than here" and was still talking lol. my sister was before us and was funny. she asked him if she could touch faces in the Pic and he said "what about covid" my sister said "fuck covid idc" and hes like "we could get measles" shes like "you'll be fine its okay" he's so funny and she battered with him well. he said he loved her hair and she said she loved his and it was very Berlin lmao.
then it was my moms secret surprise photo op with Jon Bernthal. my sister and I just sat and waited where they had those panels. I was beat by this point in time. feet killing me for wearing huge platform boots. we ran into Kevin Durand again and said hi again and took some pics with backdrops
one guy came up to me and randomly said "you look good". not in a creepy tone or anything just said it. I said thank you. while I was sitting on the floor an old lady walked up to me and said "you look good girl you look so good girl" i'm like 😁 thank you. people were really nice there. my sister got tons of comments on her hair cuz it's neon pink and short and really looks cute.
oh and Frank Whaley canceled his appearance. I was SO bummed. so so bummed. bummed I didn't get to tell Justin how much The Wave means to me and my bf but that6s fine I guess 😔. I was so upset. we had our cash ready to pay for whatever we had to just to tell him this but the line was cut off. should have stayed when he first showed up and waited in that line I guess. oh well. maybe one day I'll run into him again in life.
sure makes me want to go to MORE conventions but its harder when you have a baby. cant wait til she can come too. there were lots of families and little toddlers there.
